Nathalie Franz and Alexander Suvorov-Franz

NATHALIE FRANZ

Born in the Urals in a small town near Tscheljabinsk. Moved to Germany with her family in 1995. Interest in art from an early age. Started to develop her drawing skills by herself, attended various studios in Halle/Saale and later enrolled at the MUKU music and art school in Bielefeld.

In 2005 she began a course at the Faculty of Design at Münster University of Applied Sciences.  She studied printmaking, digital media and graphic design. From 2007 to 2008 study placement abroad at the “University of Technology, Faculty of fine Arts" in Brno. Focused on book and paper art.

Between 2009 and 2011 she worked in the "Limited“ printing studio in Münster. Since 2009 Nathalie Franz has been conducting art therapy courses for people with a disability in several homes for Westfalenfleiss.

From 2010 onwards she worked as a graphic artist and illustrator for LWL-Archäologie (LWL Archaeology) in Westphalia. Her work encompasses various printing techniques, mixed media on paper and canvas, art books, photography, video and installations.

Since 2009 she has been one half of a creative duo with Alexander Suvorov-Franz. Recently she has worked in conceptual art.

ALEXANDER SUVOROV-FRANZ

Born in St. Petersburg in 1978.
Initially began with art in various studios, and then studied art at art school. After finishing his A-levels, he joined the Cadet Corps and from there went to the OHL University for Missile Troops. He soon became disappointed by the path he had chosen, abandoned his studies and came to the Faculty for Applied Design at the Marine Technical University.  After completing his degree in 2002, he focused intensely on design and photography.

In 2008 he enrolled at the Faculty of Design at Münster University of Applied Sciences. During his studies he concerned himself with printmaking, modern art and graphic design in Germany. It was here that he met his wife-to-be, Nathalie Franz. He married in 2010 and has lived in Germany ever since. He works mainly with silk screen printing and woodblock printing.

Alexander Suvorov-Franz continues with photography, media art, installations, but concentrates mainly on conceptual art. Since 2009 he has formed a creative duo together with Natalie Franz.
